OnePlus Drivers are on the device

I am updating my OnePlus old android phone right now to lineageOS (a custom rom) and it didnt work so I got a bunch of spam websites where the drivers are. Here is a short tutorial to maybe help you if the search engines / ai show you this step. Also fuck reddit for telling me sharing secure tutorials is against their rules. Enjoy or even better ignore as you hopefully dont have to use this long as time to figure this stuff out now :D

So my OnePlus 5t is very old so I am trying a custom ROM as it is not secure anymore to use my old ass android there. But when you install it the drivers are not able to be installed because the android_winusb.inf is not somehow made for old OnePlus devies. BUT you got your drivers on your device. You just need to enable some options on the device to make them appear. On your old OnePlus:

  1. enable developer options (go to about phone -> build number -> press 7 times.
  2. enable OEM-Unlock
  3. enable USB Debugging
  4. scroll down a bit more and you see "Standard-USB-Configuration" press it
  5. select File transfer (the top option)

Now when you look at your windows Computer it has one drive 6. click it and you can install your drivers through there. 7. they are under C:\Program Files (x86)\OnePlus USB Drivers

Then I still needed to go the windows devices manager and choose from a list ABD

All Oppo and USB download sites are not looking secure with gmail email adresses in their contact forms. The offical sites do not have it anymore. I hope this helps you installing custom roms on your old OnePlus 5t or other devices.

BTW more stuff: On step 5. of the installation guide flash recovery onto your device: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img they mean fastboot flash recovery C:\Users\YOURUSER\Downloads\Ich\recovery.img

Then I still needed to copy them over and didnt see that the abt install failed. the second part was my file path ;)

It took 3 hours of setting everything up, finding the drivers and getting it to then work (some stuff I needed to reinstall). I cant say I recommend it for newbies or "anyone" sry.
