Wishlist URL for real life addresses places

We in the EU acknowledge that we dependent on the big tech of Silicon Valley and it's a problem1. One big part why a lot of a "I leave my smartphone“ folks fail is navigation. There is just a desire to go out in the world and while it helps to not follow the dotted line irl. But a lot of cool events are at specific places at specific times or like yesterday you want pick someone up but sadly you don't quiete know where it is you rely on a (digital) mapping service like * Google Maps, Apple Maps, Openstreetmaps (Mapbox, Kommot etc.)*. When someone sends you an address you often happen to switch between apps or browser tabs to type in a specific address. Or even worse a website has a widget that opens a link to there specific mapping service and it all kinds tricks you into this specific mapping service.

There is a solution just like you can type down a mailto:hello@hello.com URI you should be able to type down an URI for geographic coordinates and it actually exists but is sadly not intuitive or often used by shops or search. Instead of opening it up in your default mapping software it closes itself down. The thing that exists is the geo URI but I would wish something like

$$place: [top level domain like (be)][City][Street][Housenumber][addinational information like shop name or geo URI]$$

As of course not all points on the human earth would be possible with a street and housenumber but then we would fall back to the geo identifiers because then you didn't type it. This way everyone would be able to choose a own mapping service like Organic Maps. We could just send each other these messages as wherever it lands the mapping Software would make sense again it and it would be writeable by humans not like the existing geo URI. Which sadly is not well supported or at least when I share a Place from for example Kommot it does not use it at all. For a consumer choice we should advocate for a human travel and writeable alternative to this locking in effect by the mapping companies.

1 (maybe because we therefore dependent on the US and its shitshow of a fascist state)
